Just about everybody notices that their upper lip seems to be getting longer as part of the aging process.  

At the same time, the volume of the lip is decreasing, and often the red part of the lip seems to be disappearing in to the mouth.

There is a neat procedure which can help to improve this look.  It is called a “lip lift”, and is just what it sounds like. 

Through an incision under the nose, the white part of the lip is reduced, which pulls the lip upwards and reveals more of the upper teeth.  The recovery involves a few days of swelling and bruising.  Stitches are removed at 5-7 days.  The results:  a younger looking upper lip and nicer smile with a bit more of the upper teeth seen.  

It can be added to the facelift procedure or be done by itself.
