There is a lot of discussion these days about breast implants.  Are they safe?  Can they cause cancer?  Can they make you sick?

At this time, there is a known but very rare form of cancer that has been associated primarily with textured breast implants (Biocell).  The plastic surgery society (ASPS) is carefully reviewing this data along with the FDA.  Currently, their recommendations are that your implants are fine if you have no symptoms. 

There are also people who feel their breast implants are making them ill.  One name for it is “Breast Implant Illness.”  In these cases, removal of the implants can relieve the patient’s symptoms about 50% of the time.
