A new study has been done and recently published (Feb 2021) in the AESTHETIC SURGERY JOURNAL, showing that four sessions of medical microneedling can increase dermal and epidermal density, dermal muscle, and facial skin elasticity. The study used high-resolution ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, transepidermal water loss, and micro-biopsies in order to assess the efficacy of the treatments. At three months, after four microneedling sessions, they were able to show 102% increased density of the dermis, 19% increase in epidermal density, and 28% increase in facial elasticity. THIS IS HUGE NEWS! On top of the great results that we see clinically, it is great to see that the science shows it as well.
